Wind looked OK so headed across to the beach. The wind was around 22 knots so I rigged my big wave board and 5m sail and got out there.

On the first run there wasn't enough so I walked back upwind and was about to rig the 5.6m when it picked up again so I went back out with the 5m. It was OK now, I was nicely powered and had a few good runs out through the messy surf. A couple of nice gybes, a few jumps and then right out the back in front of a big wave and the wind dropped.

off I came and without even enough wind to waterstart I got washed back onto the beach and started another long walk of shame.

I waited on the beach for a bit but the wind was still only around 12 knots so not even enough for bigger kit so I headed back home. I put my kit away had a quick shower and then guess what? Yep, a squall came through and the wind was blowing at 25-40 knots! Grrr. It didn't last long though and the rest of the day saw the wind going from 0-10 knots one minute to 30 knots the next, along with giant hailstones.

At least I got a few runs in whilst the going was good.
